West London Councillor Found in Breach of Conduct Code Following Resident Complaints
A councillor representing the Dalgarno ward in Kensington and Chelsea has been formally found to have violated the local authority's Code of Conduct after two separate allegations were brought forward by residents. Councillor Eva Jedut, a member of the right-wing Advance UK party, faced the Audit and Transparency Committee on Monday, March 23, where the breaches were confirmed in relation to both complaints.
Details of the Allegations and Committee Findings
The complaints, referred to in the Ethics Panel report as involving residents Ms X and Ms Y, centered on two distinct incidents. Ms X lodged a complaint in May 2025 regarding Councillor Jedut's alleged conduct connected to a local VE Day event that the resident had organized with council funding. The specifics of this complaint were not fully disclosed to protect the identities of those involved.
In a separate matter, Ms Y filed a complaint in June 2025, alleging that Councillor Jedut had shared her personal information via email to Ms X. This incident reportedly occurred during a dispute between the councillor and Ms X over the funding of the local event. The committee determined that Councillor Jedut breached the Code of Conduct by failing to treat people with respect and not promoting high standards of conduct through leadership and example.
Previous Censures and Ongoing Controversies
This is not the first time Councillor Jedut has faced disciplinary action. She has previously been censured twice by the council, including for social media posts where she allegedly called Egyptians illiterate and used offensive language toward Chinese people. In February 2025, she was censured again after a conduct hearing found her in breach of the Code of Conduct regarding six complaints and for failing to complete a required social media training program.
Following an earlier censure in November 2023 for sharing offensive tweets about refugees and Muslims, Councillor Jedut was referred to training and support services. At that time, she claimed the posts were taken out of context. The recent committee meeting also addressed another councillor, West London opposition leader Kasim Ali, who was censured for allegedly calling Councillor Jedut a stupid woman, though he denied using those exact words.
Next Steps and Appeal Process
The Audit and Transparency Committee has announced that a full written decision will be prepared and sent to Councillor Jedut and the complainants promptly. This document will also be published on the council's website after the pre-election period. Councillor Jedut retains the right to appeal the decision by notifying the Monitoring Officer in writing within 14 days of the committee meeting, with any appeal committee comprising different members.
Councillor Jedut has not yet responded to requests for comment from the Local Democracy Reporting Service regarding the latest allegations. The ongoing scrutiny highlights the importance of adherence to ethical standards in local governance, particularly in handling sensitive resident information and maintaining respectful conduct.
