A teenager has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a 27-year-old woman, following his extradition from the United Arab Emirates to the United Kingdom. The charge relates to the fatal stabbing of Kamonnan Thiamphanit, also known as Angela, which occurred at a property in Bayswater, west London, on April 6, 2024.
Details of the Incident
Thiamphanit was discovered by police at her home address in Stanhope Place at approximately 8:30 AM. She had sustained multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that Enzo Bettamio, 18, of no fixed address, was extradited from Dubai to the UK on Friday following joint inquiries by the force and specialist lawyers from the Crown Prosecution Service's extradition and international units.
Legal Proceedings
Bettamio was formally charged with Thiamphanit's murder on Saturday and appeared before Westminster Magistrates' Court. During the hearing, he spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth. He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday. No plea was entered during the initial court appearance.

Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, who is leading the investigation, expressed gratitude to the victim's family and friends for their patience and unwavering support throughout what has been an incredibly difficult and distressing time for them.
