Croydon, Lewisham, Tower Hamlets Election Results Live

With most of London’s local election results now declared, attention is turning to the final three boroughs still counting votes ahead of this evening’s expected declarations.

Croydon

In Croydon, declarations are expected this afternoon. The borough is one of the most closely watched battlegrounds in London after the Conservatives took control in 2022 under executive mayor Jason Perry. Experts predict a fragmented result, with several parties expected to win seats and the possibility of no overall control.

Lewisham

Meanwhile in Lewisham, declarations are expected this afternoon as voters await the outcome of both the council and mayoral elections. Labour won every council seat in the borough in 2022, although several councillors have since defected to the Green Party. Political analysts have suggested the Greens could make gains this year, despite Labour remaining favourites to stay the largest party.

Tower Hamlets

In Tower Hamlets, results are expected from around 6pm. The borough is currently led by the Aspire Party, founded by executive mayor Lutfur Rahman, which holds 22 of the council’s 45 seats. Labour currently has 16 councillors, while independents hold five seats. The Conservatives and Greens each have one councillor.
