Peckham Predator Convicted for Abhorrent Sexual Assault on Train

A paedophile residing in Peckham has been convicted for subjecting a 13-year-old girl to what authorities described as an "abhorrent" sexual assault during a train journey. Abdulmanon Aliev, a 50-year-old national of Tajikistan, trapped the teenager in a window seat before launching a prolonged and violent attack on June 16, 2025.

Details of the Horrific Incident

The assault occurred on an afternoon Southend to London intercity service. Aliev initially sat opposite the young victim and attempted to initiate a conversation using a translation app on his phone. Feeling uncomfortable, the girl moved to another part of the carriage in an effort to distance herself from the predator.

Unfortunately, Aliev followed her to the new location. He then blocked her into a two-person seat, preventing any escape, and carried out a sustained sexual assault. The teenager demonstrated remarkable courage by managing to break free and alight at Fenchurch Street station. She subsequently boarded a second train to leave the capital area entirely.

Investigation and Arrest

Members of the public later discovered the victim in a highly distressed state and immediately contacted the British Transport Police (BTP). This prompt action initiated a major investigation. Plain clothes officers successfully detained Aliev in Peckham exactly eleven days after the horrific ordeal took place.

A subsequent search of his residence on Rye Lane proved crucial to the case. Investigators recovered the specific clothing he was wearing on the day of the attack. This physical evidence significantly bolstered the already substantial file of evidence presented to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Court Verdict and Official Statements

At Inner London Crown Court on April 9, Abdulmanon Aliev was found guilty on multiple serious charges. The conviction includes two counts of Assault by Penetration, three counts of Sexual Assault, and one count of Attempted Rape.

BTP Detective Constable Elizabeth Cahill provided a powerful statement following the verdict. "Aliev singled out a vulnerable child and subjected her to one of the most abhorrent sexual assaults I’ve ever investigated," she said. "While the focus of attention will rightly be on him as the despicable sexual predator that he is, I want to pay tribute to the brave victim who reported him to police."

DC Cahill emphasized that the conviction was a direct result of the victim's strength. "This verdict would not have been possible without her account of what happened and her willingness to support our investigation. We take every sexual offence report extremely seriously, and we’ll stop at nothing to put offenders like Aliev before the courts."

Sentencing and Next Steps

Abdulmanon Aliev is now awaiting sentencing, which is scheduled to take place at Inner London Crown Court on June 17. The case highlights the ongoing efforts of transport police to combat sexual offences on the rail network and brings a measure of justice for the courageous young victim.
