Manhunt after 15-year-old stabbed to death in Islington

Police have launched a major manhunt for a 22-year-old man following the fatal stabbing of a 15-year-old boy in North London. The victim, Adam Henry, was attacked just yards from his former school.

A Family's 'Unthinkable Loss'

Adam Henry, described by his devastated family as a ‘beautiful, loyal son’, succumbed to fatal stab wounds on Tuesday, December 9. Emergency services were called to Westbourne Road in Islington at approximately 1.02pm after reports of a violent assault.

Despite receiving immediate medical treatment at the scene, the teenager later died in hospital. In an emotional tribute, his family said their ‘beautiful son’ was cruelly taken away, leaving them with memories of a loving brother, grandson, and friend known for his cheeky sense of humour and good nature.

Urgent Appeal to Trace Suspect

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police are urgently appealing for information to locate 22-year-old Abdel Derdour, who they wish to speak to in connection with the murder. Police warn that Derdour uses many aliases.

He was last seen fleeing the scene in the direction of Caledonian Road. Derdour is described as approximately 5ft 8in tall, of slim build and mixed heritage, and was recently seen with a moustache and facial hair.

Chief Superintendent Jason Stewart, who leads policing in Islington, stated: ‘We believe someone out there knows something that could help us bring those responsible to justice. Even the smallest detail could be the breakthrough our detectives urgently need.’

Police intelligence suggests Derdour frequents the Holborn area and its surroundings. The public is urged to contact police directly or to provide information anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers.

One Man Charged with Murder

In a related development, 20-year-old Tsidi Winion from Handyside Street in Camden was charged on Monday, December 15, with murder and possession of an offensive weapon. Winion is scheduled to face trial at court on August 6, 2026.

The investigation continues at pace as officers work to establish the full circumstances leading to the tragic death of the schoolboy, which has sent shockwaves through the local community.
