Sani Krishna, 35, traveled from London to Bangalore on her GP's advice to treat depression. Days after arriving, she was run over by a tractor, losing part of her face and requiring spleen removal.
Crash details
While visiting her parents, Sani rode on a Rapido motorcycle taxi when the driver crashed into a tractor. The driver was thrown aside, but Sani was thrown under the tractor's wheels. She remains hospitalized on a ventilator, unable to talk or eat, missing a lip and facial flesh.
Fundraising for medical costs
Her brother Arjun told Metro: 'She used all of her savings to fund her trip. She is such an energetic and happy woman, but she started to struggle while living in London.' The family used their savings for her trip and now seek funds for treatment. Arjun added: 'My sister is beautiful, we are very close. I look up to her. She has suffered such severe injuries because the tractor wheels went right over her body. But I have faith she will get better.'
