Family's Heartbreak After Bus Driver Shot Dead in Clapham

The family of a London bus driver shot dead outside a pub in Clapham have spoken of their devastation and demanded justice. Auguste-Marie Bile-aka Amoa, 25, was killed in Willington Road on Monday, August 10, in an incident police are treating as murder.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder after attending hospital with a gunshot wound, but has since been released with no further action following further police enquiries. The Metropolitan Police has not made any further arrests and is appealing for witnesses.

Family Tribute to 'Amazing Young Man'

In a statement released a week after his death, Bile-aka's family described him as "an amazing young man full of love, kindness, and an enthusiasm for life." They said: "We are devastated by the horrific murder of Bile-aka. He was an amazing young man full of love, kindness, and an enthusiasm for life."

The family added: "Bile-aka touched so many hearts, and the pain of losing him is impossible to put into words. It is difficult to imagine a world without his smile, his presence, and the joy he brought to those around him. Family, friends, and colleagues are heartbroken, and all we want now is justice for him. Please stand with us and help us honour Bile-aka by making sure his life is remembered and that justice is served."

Police Appeal for Information

Detective Chief Inspector Claire Guiver, leading the investigation, said: "Our thoughts remain with Bile-aka’s family as they continue to come to terms with this tragic incident. We are extending our appeal to members of the public, and anyone in the area around the time of the shooting to please come forward."

She added: "Any piece of information you have could prove vital in our investigation. If you witnessed anything suspicious, or have CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage that could assist our investigation, we urge you to get in touch. No matter how big or small, your information could be crucial in our investigation."
