Casualty confirms Dylan Keogh's crash with spine, neck, head injuries
Casualty: Dylan Keogh's crash leaves him with severe injuries

In this week's episode of Casualty, Dylan Keogh (William Beck) is rushed to Holby ED with spine, neck, and head injuries after a car crash, leaving his fate uncertain. The beloved character has been spiralling since learning that his son, Matty Linlaker (Aron Julius), had been sleeping with Stevie Nash (Elinor Lawless). In revenge, Dylan reported Stevie to Flynn Byron (Olly Rix), but has struggled to process the betrayal.

Relapse and a dark turn

In a recent episode, recovering alcoholic Dylan reached a very dark place and drank champagne at a ceremony. The last scene showed him driving with a bottle of clear liquid nearby. His whereabouts are revealed in this week's instalment: while it initially seems he might check into rehab, it is confirmed he is outside a care home.

Dylan visits his father, Brian (David Beames), unseen since 2018. On edge and unpredictable, Dylan tells his dad he is the reason he'll never be a proper father to Matty. When Brian fails to engage, Dylan discovers his father has Encephalopathy and does not recognise him. Brian calls Dylan a 'runt' he never cared for.

Voice message and crash

Back at the ED, Matty receives a voice message from Dylan, who says he thought he was like his dad but realises he is not cruel and truly cares for Matty. To Matty and Stevie's horror, the message ends with a loud crash. Seconds later, the red phone rings, and the team learns Dylan is being brought in with spine, neck, and head injuries. Distraught, Matty tells Flynn about Dylan's drinking. The episode leaves viewers wondering if Dylan caused the crash and whether the team can save him.
