Police are searching for a suspect after a 19-year-old man was stabbed in Streatham Hill, South London, on Wednesday, August 12. The victim was treated at the scene and taken to hospital, with injuries confirmed as neither life-threatening nor life-changing.
Officers were called to Wavertree Road at approximately 3.57pm following reports of a knife attack. The location is close to Streatham Hill station and not far from Brixton Hill. The London Ambulance Service also attended and treated the man before transporting him to a local hospital.
Police appeal for witnesses
The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that no arrests have been made at this stage, and the attacker remains at large. A spokesperson for the Met said: “On Wednesday, August 12, at 3.57pm police were called to reports of a stabbing on Wavertree Road, Streatham. Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service who treated a 19-year-old man for stab wounds before taking him to hospital. His injuries have since been confirmed as neither life-threatening nor life-changing.”
“No arrests have been made at this stage. Anyone with information that may assist police is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 5079/12Aug,” the spokesperson added.
Ambulance response details
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson provided further details: “We were called at 4:00pm yesterday (August 12) to reports of a stabbing on the junction of Streatham Hill and Wavertree Road, Streatham. We sent an ambulance crew and an incident response officer. We treated a patient at the scene and took him to a local hospital.”
The incident has prompted a police investigation, with officers appealing for anyone with information to come forward. The victim’s current condition has been described as stable, and his injuries are not considered to be life-changing.
