A 102-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital after an alleged assault at a pub in South Wales. The incident occurred on Saturday, August 1, at The Crow's Nest pub in Cwmbran, prompting a response from emergency services. The elderly man was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains in a critical condition.
Arrest and Investigation
Gwent Police have arrested a 56-year-old man from Llanelli on suspicion of section 20 assault, formerly known as inflicting grievous bodily harm (GBH). The suspect has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
Police are appealing for witnesses who were at the pub between 10pm and 11pm on the evening of the incident. In a statement, Gwent Police said: 'Officers attended along with crews from the Welsh Ambulance Service and a 102-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment. He remains in critical condition.'
