Harrow stabbing: Man hurt, teen arrested in Wealdstone

An 18-year-old remains in custody after a stabbing in Harrow left a 25-year-old man with 'potentially life-changing' injuries. Emergency services were called to Byron Park, Wealdstone, shortly before 12:50am on August 16 following reports of an attack.

Incident and Response

Paramedics treated the victim for stab wounds before taking him to a major trauma centre. In a statement, the Metropolitan Police confirmed the victim's injuries are potentially life-changing but not life-threatening. The 18-year-old was arrested nearby on suspicion of grievous bodily harm in connection with the incident, the force added. He is still being held, pending further enquiries.

A large police presence was pictured on the Belmont Road side of Byron Park whilst officers sealed off the area. The London Ambulance Service also sent several resources, including a trauma team from London's Air Ambulance.

Official Statement and Appeal

A statement from the London Ambulance Service reads: "We were called at 12:48am yesterday (16 August) to reports of a stabbing on Belmont Road, HA3. We sent an ambulance crew, paramedics in fast response cars and an incident response officer. We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London's Air Ambulance. The first paramedic arrived in less than seven minutes. We treated a patient at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority by road."

Police are appealing for witnesses to the stabbing to come forward to help in the ongoing investigation. Anyone with relevant information or footage is asked to call 101, quoting CAD 391/16AUG. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
