The fire, which broke out in the early hours of the morning, claimed the lives of two children, whose bodies were discovered inside the destroyed home. Four other children and their father managed to escape the blaze.

The family, consisting of six children aged between three and 16, and their father, who is in his 30s, were inside the home when the fire started. The mother was not present as she was already en route to their new home in Queensland, where the family was scheduled to move on Monday. Police confirmed that the family had been preparing to relocate.
