Coronation Street icon Tracy Shaw has revealed that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The 52-year-old actress, best known for playing Maxine Peacock on the ITV soap from May 1995 to January 2003, shared the news in a heartfelt video on Instagram.

Diagnosis and Treatment Plan

In the video, Tracy told her fans: 'I’ve been diagnosed with breast cancer.' She explained that while she initially expected to undergo surgery in two weeks, her test results have led to a different course of action. 'Because my results have come back… it means I have to have chemo for five months before, then, hopefully, surgery to have the lumps removed,' she said. She added that further tests and possibly more surgery would follow after that.

Tracy captioned the video with a message of solidarity: 'Love to everyone who is also going through this journey, looking forward to hearing from you all, especially you amazing survivors.'
