Real life soap couple Amy Walsh and Toby-Alexander Smith have revealed the name of their newborn daughter. The actors, known to fans as troubled Tracy Shankley in Emmerdale and psychotic serial killer Gray Atkins in EastEnders, welcomed their second child earlier this year.
Baby Name Announcement
The couple took to Facebook this week to introduce their baby girl, Nell Rose Smith, who is now 12 weeks old. They wrote: 'Meet Nell Rose Smith. Alongside the beautiful moments, we'll be sharing a little glimpse into our family life, balancing work and parenthood, and all the chaos in between.'
In March, Amy shared a black-and-white photo on Instagram of their daughter's leg with a hospital bracelet, captioning it: 'This time last week I was heading into established labour. We've been in the most magical bubble ever since.'
Support from Fellow Soap Stars
The post received an outpouring of support from co-stars and family. Amy's sister, Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh, left a series of emojis. Isabel Hodgins (Victoria Sugden) commented 'Amazing!!', while Michelle Hardwick (Vanessa Woodfield) added 'She's perfect'. Other well-wishers included Amelia Flanagan, Lisa Riley, Katie Hill, Bradley Johnson, and Beth Cordingly.
Former Hollyoaks star Nikki Sanderson and EastEnders alum Lorraine Stanley also offered congratulations, along with Coronation Street's Catherine Tyldesley, who wrote: 'Awwwwwww baaaaaabe! Huge congratulations to you all! Wonderful news.'
Family Life and Background
Amy and Toby are also parents to their eldest daughter, Bonnie-Mae. The couple met in the audience of a Strictly Come Dancing episode in 2019, where Amy was supporting Kelvin Fletcher and Toby was cheering on Emma Bunton. They married in 2023.
They announced their second pregnancy with a video showing Toby, Amy, and Bonnie revealing a baby scan picture, with Amy writing: 'Smith/Walsh baby 2.0 incoming 2026'.
While Amy is on maternity leave, Toby will return to EastEnders for a short stint as Gray Atkins, following his character's imprisonment in 2022 for murdering his wife Chantelle, Tina Carter, and Kush Kazemi.
