Emmerdale star Lucy Pargeter has announced that her family is expecting triplets, but the new arrivals are not human. The actress, who plays Chas Dingle on the ITV soap, took to Instagram to share an ultrasound photograph of her dog's pregnancy, with the caption: 'We are expecting triplets!' followed by a party popper emoji.
Dog's triplets cause excitement
Lucy's floodle (a French bulldog-poodle cross) is the mother of the three incoming pups. The actress already has two dogs from the same breed, which she introduced to fans in 2023 as 'two more additions to the house of madness'. Her household includes her three daughters: Lola, born in 2005, and twin girls Missy and Betsy, conceived through IVF in 2017.
Emmerdale plot contrasts
While Lucy's personal life is filled with joyful news, her on-screen alter ego Chas has been facing turmoil. Chas recently became entangled in cousin Charity Dingle's break-in at Home Farm to pay off blackmailer Dr. Caitlin Todd. She also launched a solo investigation into newcomer Serena Sugden, suspecting her of hiding secrets after Robert Sugden's accident. Chas swiped Serena's phone and found evidence linking her to Robert's serial killer brother, John Sugden.
Fan reactions
Lucy often shares family milestones on social media, including her back tattoo and her bearded dragon Narla. Fans adored the dog pictures, with one commenting 'Gorgeous pup' and another saying 'Adorable'. A third fan joked: 'Too cute. Looks as if he should be sitting at the bar moaning about the price of dog food.'
