Joe Jonas wants to find love again despite fans 'playing detective' over his lyrics. The Jonas Brothers star, 36, opened up about his personal life and career in a recent interview, discussing everything from fatherhood to his new music and gaming collaboration.
Finding Love Again
Joe, who split from ex-wife Sophie Turner in 2023 after nearly a decade together, released his second solo album last year titled Music for People Who Believe in Love. He explained that the album reflects a new beginning and a desire to find love again. 'I wanted to create something that was reflective of a new beginning of finding love again and feeling loved,' he shared.
The singer acknowledged that fans often try to decipher the meaning behind his lyrics, but he wanted to be transparent about his feelings. 'One of the fun things about being an artist is that you can be mysterious and sometimes have people trying to play detective on what lyrics mean. I wanted to be able to say, "This is reflective of where I'm at in my life right now." I'm very proud of that album.'
New Music and Gaming Collaboration
Joe teased that new music is on the way, with another song 'ready to go' once he fits it into his busy schedule. He also collaborated with the mobile farming game Hay Day, remixing their country-inspired theme song The Cozy Anthem. Despite the seemingly random partnership, Joe called it a 'no-brainer' and said it felt authentic due to his father's background as a country singer.
'Songwriting is one of my favourite things in the world, and to be able to push myself into different genres and try different things. Country is something that has always been around in our family,' Joe explained. 'I put on my thinking cap and thought, "What would Country Joe do in this Hay Day world?"'
Disney Legend Honor
Joe and his brothers, Kevin and Nick, will be inducted into the Disney Legends ceremony in August, alongside stars like Anne Hathaway and Dwayne Johnson. Reflecting on his past rebellion against the 'Disney kid' label, Joe admitted he was 'too immature' to appreciate his first solo album's reception but is now grateful he didn't burn bridges.
He also teased a return to the Camp Rock franchise for a third film, now as an executive producer alongside Demi Lovato. 'I would encourage younger artists to keep your side of the street clean and don't burn any bridges, because ultimately, people come back around in your life,' he advised.
Family and Quiet Mornings
Now in his 30s, Joe prioritizes family time with his two daughters, Willa and Delphine, splitting his time between the UK and US. 'I work really hard, so I have quiet mornings. That's the goals this month, making breakfast and getting kids to school. That keeps me motivated,' he said. 'Career-wise, there's big plans and big tours, but on the personal side, just taking care of myself and working hard so I can have quiet days.'
Joe signed off by expressing his desire to redo the Jonas Brothers' Royal Albert Hall performance, leaving fans excited for what's to come.
