Emilie Kiser has issued an apology after her 16-month-old son Teddy was seen without a life jacket during a boat ride in Mallorca, Spain, in June 2026. The incident occurred just over a year after her three-year-old son Trigg died in a drowning accident at their Arizona home on May 12, 2025.
Backlash Over Boat Video
In footage shared by influencer Madi Curtis, Teddy is seen sitting on his father Brady’s lap on a boat without a life jacket. The video was deleted after sparking criticism from fans, given Emilie’s public advocacy for water safety since Trigg’s death. One commenter, @aquasea1117, wrote: “I literally cannot believe they brought that baby on a boat never mind not safely.” Another user, kimaodonnell, added: “Seriously how could they possibly still be so negligent?”
Emilie’s Statement
On July 28, 2026, Emilie addressed the backlash via Instagram Stories. She stated: “Our child should have been in his life jacket for the entirety of that boat ride, not even for the few moments that he was out of it. We are painfully aware that in a matter of seconds, your entire life can change, and we should have done better.”
She acknowledged the anger from followers, saying: “It comes from the belief that Trigg should still be here, and we share that same belief more than can be expressed. He was only three years old, and should have lived a lifetime more.” The post concluded with a promise to “continue to do better, advocate for better and, as hard as we try to avoid them, still make mistakes.”
Trigg’s Death and Aftermath
Trigg drowned in the family’s swimming pool on May 12, 2025, and died in hospital six days later. Police recommended that Brady face a felony child abuse charge, alleging he lost sight of Trigg while caring for newborn Teddy. However, prosecutors declined to pursue charges. Emilie successfully petitioned a court to keep graphic details from the police report—including body camera footage—private, citing emotional distress.
In July 2026, Emilie announced she and Brady are expecting their third child, describing the pregnancy as a “bright light” after a dark year.
