Ollie Driscoll (Raphael Akuwudike) faces a potential custodial sentence in Coronation Street after a serious error of judgment involving Gary Windass's son, Jake (Bobby Bradshaw). The trouble begins when Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins), convinced her relationship with George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) is failing, heads to the Rovers Return and drinks far too much. As she stumbles out into the ginnel, she topples over, an incident witnessed by Jake, who finds it hilarious and films her while throwing his water over her.
Ollie's Mistaken Intervention
Spotting Jake's mischief, Ollie races after him and pins the young lad to the floor. Christina and Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) arrive to find Ollie restraining Jake. When Christina clarifies that Jake only poured water on her, a mortified Ollie releases him, but the damage is done. Within seconds, Gary learns of the incident and urges Jake to give an honest statement. Jake tells Gary and Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) that he was on his way to call for Joseph Brown (William Flanagan) at the time, leaving the truth in question.
Arrest and Potential Prison Time
Despite Christina and Glenda telling Ollie they believe he acted in good faith, PC Jess Heywood arrives and arrests Ollie on suspicion of assault. With Ollie potentially facing prison, a stressed Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) confronts Gary, warning that his son might end up behind bars. Jake, awash with guilt, listens as the gravity of the situation sinks in. Will he tell the truth, or is Ollie about to spend time in custody?
