At least five people have died after a devastating fire broke out at a fairground in the southeastern Mexican city of Villahermosa. The incident occurred during a concert at the Tabasco Park fairground, turning a festive event into a deadly nightmare.

Hundreds of people were enjoying the fair when the fire erupted in the early hours of the morning. Footage captured a wall of orange flames and thick black smoke rising from a warehouse. Panic ensued as hundreds fled the blaze, but not everyone managed to escape to safety.
Official Response
Tabasco Governor Javier May Rodríguez confirmed that the fire broke out in Warehouse 1 at Tabasco Park. He stated that five people lost their lives before the flames were brought under control. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Rodríguez expressed condolences to the victims' families and offered full support.
He wrote: “During these regrettable events, five people lost their lives, so we extend our condolences to their families and offer our full support in the wake of this unfortunate incident. We are deeply grateful to the public who helped evacuate the area when the disaster struck. We will immediately launch an economic recovery program for the exhibitors who were affected. We will not leave them alone. The investigative authorities will begin their work to determine the causes of the fire. We will be providing updates throughout the morning on what happened and the course the Fair will take. Together, we will move forward.”
