Upstairs at Hausu: A Flirty Cocktail Bar Above Peckham Restaurant
Upstairs at Hausu: Flirty Cocktail Bar Above Peckham Eatery

Upstairs at Hausu, a new cocktail bar perched above the popular Hausu restaurant in Peckham, has opened to rave reviews, earning a 4 out of 5 star rating from Time Out. The bar, accessed via mahogany-clad stairs, offers a beguiling atmosphere with inventive drinks and moreish bar snacks.

Setting and Atmosphere

Located at 11a Station Way, inside the former waiting room of Peckham Rye station, Hausu already impressed diners with its Victorian tiled loos featuring original wartime posters. Now, the upstairs bar adds another draw. The space features original brick walls, flutteringly sexy red curtains, vintage 1970s classroom chairs, beige walls lined with vinyl, and unobtrusive decks in a corner. It functions as a 'listening bar', playing music from Studio One reggae to winsome folk. Giant vaulted windows offer views of Peckham's new public square under construction.

Cocktails and Bar Snacks

The cocktail menu includes a Salted daterini tomato martini, described as a surprisingly light and elegantly savoury take on the popular cocktail. The fennel negroni is sweeter than expected, with an ouzo-adjacent burst of aniseed. A pineapple sidecar hums with cognac and a fruity shrub. According to Time Out, the fennel negroni is barely a negroni at all, which is why the reviewer liked it. Bar snacks include oysters topped with house hot sauce and lime leaf, almost a meal in themselves, and on warm days, sunsweet melon layered with lardo.

Additional Offerings and Tips

Patrons can also order glasses of wine from the downstairs wine bar, which Time Out wine writer Hannah Crosbie counts among her favourite wine bars in London. The cocktails are potent, so bar snacks are recommended. The bar is open as of Friday 24 July 2026. Address: 11a Station Way, Peckham, London SE15 4RX.
