Mayfair's New Cocktail Bar Brutes to Feature a 'Martini Shop' and Luxe Snacks
Mayfair's Brutes Bar to Open with Martini Shop in April

Mayfair Welcomes a Chic New Cocktail Bar with a 'Martini Shop'

Central London's most prestigious neighborhood, Mayfair, is set to enhance its vibrant nightlife scene with the arrival of a sophisticated new cocktail bar. Named Brutes of Mayfair, this upscale establishment is scheduled to open its doors in April, promising to deliver an exquisite blend of stiff drinks and gourmet small plates tailored for the area's discerning clientele.

A Focus on Crafting the Perfect Martini

At the heart of Brutes of Mayfair is a dedicated emphasis on creating exceptional martinis. The bar introduces a unique 'martini shop' concept designed to guide patrons through the intricate art of martini-making. Guests can select from a variety of styles, including dry, wet, dirty, or 'brutal' options, using printed cards and a barometer that even considers weather conditions for personalized recommendations.

The garnishes offered are notably adventurous, featuring items like blue cheese olives, pickled onion monster munch, gildas, and chicken scratchings. Beyond martinis, the drink menu includes innovative cocktails such as the 'Seventh Stall', crafted with wasabi leaf vodka, yellow tomato, Brutes hot sauce, and mustard seed caviar. Additionally, the bar will serve British beers alongside a curated selection of wines and champagnes.

Luxurious Snacks and Elegant Ambiance

Complementing the drinks, the food offerings at Brutes are described as bougie, with highlights including giant potato crisps topped with sour cream, chives, and N25 Beluga caviar. The bar's aesthetic draws inspiration from old-school tailor shops and British sports clubs, creating a refined atmosphere. Staff will don 1960s-inspired attire, complete with custom white bartender jackets designed by a local Savile Row tailor.

With only 12 seats available at the bar and a small lounge area adorned with Persian rugs, securing a spot at Brutes may prove challenging, especially on busy evenings. The bar is located on Bruton Place, a fitting address that aligns with its name.

Independent Venture and Future Plans

Brutes of Mayfair is an independent project spearheaded by friends James Stevenson and Guy Mazuch, who met while working for JKS Restaurants. Once operational, the bar plans to host limited-edition martini collaborations with renowned chefs and restaurants. While an exact opening date has not yet been announced, the anticipation is building for this new addition to Mayfair's culinary and nightlife landscape.
