London is set to welcome its largest rooftop bar, Freight Brixton, which will open its doors on May 7, bringing a vibrant open-air destination to the heart of south London. This impressive venue, located adjacent to Brixton Village Market and just minutes from Brixton tube station, will accommodate over 1,000 people, making it the capital's biggest rooftop bar.
A Hub for Food, Drink, and Music
The new venue will combine culinary experiences, specialty drinks, and live music to create a dynamic atmosphere. Freight Brixton will feature a rotating roster of chef residencies, offering diverse food options, alongside a range of DJ line-ups that promise to keep the energy high throughout the summer.
Opening Weekend and Summer Events
For the opening weekend, legendary DJ David Rodigan will kick off the events on May 9, followed by performances from artists like Laurence Guy and Dimitri from Paris. The calendar is packed with big nights in May, June, and July, including Laurence Guy hosting an evening of deep, euphoric house on May 16, Ghosts Of Garage presenting a UKG night on May 30, and Dimitri From Paris bringing his legendary house and disco set on June 6.
In addition to nighttime events, Freight Brixton will host a selection of brunch events, such as Reggae Brunch and Maggie Brunch, catering to London's growing daytime party culture. The venue will also feature specialty bars, including the Casamigos 'House of Friends' and Hotel Milano, an Italian-inspired aperitivo bar as part of the new Brixton Cocktail Club.
World Cup Fan Zone and Job Creation
With the World Cup approaching, football fans will be delighted to know that Freight Brixton will include a dedicated World Cup fan zone, screening Champions League and FA Cup matches. This addition is expected to draw large crowds during the action-packed summer of football.
The opening of Freight Brixton will bring 50 new jobs to the area, boosting local employment.
