Isa Briones, star of the hit medical drama The Pitt, has issued a strong message to fans who disrupt her Broadway performances by shouting references to the show. The actor, who plays Dr. Trinity Santos in the HBO series, is currently starring in the musical Just in Time in New York.
Briones took to Instagram to express her frustration, writing: "Hey, hey, hey! Once again, Broadway is not a circus. Do not yell whatever you want at the performers. Yelling 'when are you going to finish your charts' before I sing Who's Sorry Now? is fucking disrespectful to the performers onstage and your fellow audience members. Y'all are pissin' me off."
She added: "Love and light and please remember you are occupying shared spaces and watching art."
Rise to Fame and Broadway Debut
Briones made her Broadway debut in 2024 as Eurydice in Hadestown. In April, she began playing Connie Francis in Just in Time, a jukebox musical about the life of singer-songwriter Bobby Darin. Her rapid rise to fame is largely due to her role in The Pitt, which premiered in 2025 and quickly became a global phenomenon.
Fans' Enthusiasm Crosses the Line
While Briones appreciates fan support, she insists on respect for the theatrical experience. Her co-star Patrick Ball, who plays Dr. Frank Langdon, has also spoken about fan interactions. On the Prestige Junkie podcast, Ball said: "When you're making TV, we live in our little fluorescent box on the Warner Brothers lot – we're sort of removed from the people who are actually receiving our work. Then you walk out of the stage door, and everybody who has become so supportive of The Pitt, they're all there. It's been such a blessing."
The Pitt's Unprecedented Success
Since its second season began in January, The Pitt has dominated Nielsen's streaming charts, accumulating over 1 billion minutes of watch time for eight consecutive weeks. The series is expected to be a major contender at the Emmys in September. Its first season earned 13 nominations and won five awards, including Best Drama Series, Best Actor for Noah Wyle, and Best Supporting Actress for Katherine LaNasa. A third season is currently in development.
