Haldiram's Opens First UK Restaurant in London

London’s Indian food scene is second to none. From quick curries and street food snacks to Michelin-starred meals, the city offers dishes representing every corner of the subcontinent’s culinary majesty. And from June, there will be another diner to add to the list: Haldiram’s is launching a new restaurant next month.

Haldiram's: A Legacy of Flavor

If you’ve ever craved gulab jamun, rasgulla, or besan ladoo, you’ve likely heard of Haldiram’s. Founded in 1937, it has become India’s largest sweets and snacks brand, available in more than 80 countries worldwide. In addition to sweet and salty nibbles, Haldiram’s owns over 200 restaurants in India and one in Dubai. Its upcoming London opening will be the first UK addition.

Location and Capacity

Opening in June 2026, the Leicester Square restaurant will be located at 19-20 Irving Street, next to Jamie’s Italian. The 3,000-square-foot site will seat 120 people, with a heated outdoor space offering an additional 20 seats.

Menu Highlights

The menu will feature dishes like choley bhature (a North Indian chickpea curry served with fried bread), pao bhaji (a Mumbai-style vegetable curry), and raj kachori (a large crisp shell with chaat fillings). The brand has also hinted at an extensive chaat selection and exclusive ‘infusion’-led desserts designed for the London venue.

Sweets and Takeaway Options

True to its roots, the restaurant will include a sweets counter and shelves of packaged products, allowing guests to stock up on their favorite treats to take away.

This exciting addition joins London’s vibrant Indian food scene, offering both dine-in and takeaway experiences. Stay tuned for more updates on this and other culinary news in the city.
