Eid al-Adha 2026: Test Your Knowledge with Our Quiz

Eid al-Adha, the Muslim 'feast of sacrifice', is approaching this week. Muslim families across the world will gather to mark this significant occasion.

This is the second of two yearly Eid celebrations for Muslims. It honors the Quranic account of Ibrahim's (Abraham) readiness to sacrifice his son, Ismail, demonstrating his devotion to Allah. According to the Islamic lunar calendar, Eid al-Adha occurs on the tenth day of Dhu al-Hijjah and spans four days.

This year, it will likely be observed on Wednesday, May 27 in the UK. Other countries including Saudi Arabia, Oman, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kuwait, and Qatar will also observe the feast on this date. The USA, Canada, Australia, and other European countries such as France and Germany will also celebrate on May 27. However, the date will differ in some parts of the world, such as India and New Zealand, who will reportedly celebrate on May 28.
