Former Coronation Street actress Rhea Bailey has revealed that her sister, Grammy Award-winning singer Corinne Bailey Rae, performed at her wedding to Darren Everest, a member of vocal group The Overtones. Bailey shared a carousel of images and clips on Instagram, offering a glimpse into her special day, which took place in June.
In the Instagram post, Bailey described how she decided to sing at her own wedding, aiming for a 'wedding singer vibe.' She wrote, 'I decided to sing at my own wedding! Just for the craic! I wanted to create a 'wedding singer vibe' And it worked! We had everyone joining it. There's a whole 4 min video of it, that you'll never see!'
Professional Talent and Family Moments
Bailey noted that the couple were 'spoiled' with professional talent, highlighting a performance by Ramzi, who sang 'Can We Talk,' and her sister Corinne, a two-time Grammy award winner, who sang for the couple. Bailey added, 'She'd asked me to sing at her wedding years ago, so it was lovely to have her sing at mine.'
To get the party started, The Overtones, Darren's band, got everyone on the dance floor. Bailey commented, 'Amazing having our friend, my husband and my sister spoil us. It was such a treat. So no tips there i'm afraid. Safe to say the entertainment went down a treat!'

Secret Ceremony Details
Rhea had previously revealed that she and Darren had two weddings, including a private ceremony at a local registry office two days before their main wedding. She explained on Instagram that they snuck off without telling their kids or anyone else, with only her sister and her husband as witnesses. She described the ceremony as 'more special than I ever imagined it could be,' adding that they got the giggles, shed a tear, and were brimming with emotions.
After the ceremony, they went to a restaurant just the two of them and talked about their plans. Rhea noted, 'And how incredibly lucky we are to feel so much love for each other after so many years together.'
Rhea's Coronation Street character, Caz Hammond, was far from angelic, having arrived as the fiancée of Kate Connor and later manipulating and terrifying Maria Connor before faking her own murder and framing Maria.
