Coronation Street Stars Reunite for Heartwarming Night Out

Coronation Street fans were delighted as former star Faye Brookes reunited with several cast members from the ITV soap after seven years. The actress, known for playing Kate Connor, shared a carousel of photos on Instagram featuring Alison King, Julia Goulding, Daniel Brocklebank, and Sue Cleaver.

A Night of Support

Brookes captioned the post: 'The reunion I didn't know I needed…' She explained that her former co-stars came to support her latest theatre venture, adding: 'The love and support in the room last night was beyond words. Super grateful to you all. See you soon beautiful people. Love my Corrie fam.'

Faye's Journey Since Leaving the Cobbles

Faye left Coronation Street in 2019 after her character Kate Connor's storyline with Rana Habeeb ended tragically. The couple were set to marry when Rana was killed in the factory roof collapse. Since then, Faye has taken on numerous theatre roles, currently starring in Double Double alongside Daniel Brocklebank at the Barn Theatre Cirencester. The play, described as 'My Fair Lady meets Dial M For Murder,' premiered in 1986 and promises a tale of power, love, and illusion.

Daniel Brocklebank's Exit

Daniel Brocklebank, who played Billy Mayhew, left Coronation Street earlier this year when his character was killed off in the Corriedale crossover. He was trapped in a burning minibus by Theo Silverton and died in the explosion.

Fan Reactions

Fans were thrilled by the reunion, with comments like 'So fantastic to see you with your cast members you look so happy' and 'Ahh the reunion we all needed!' Many also called for Faye to return to the cobbles as Kate Connor, a possibility she has not ruled out. In a previous interview, she said: 'I get a lot of, "Why is Kate not coming back?" I think that's a really lovely thing… Kate didn't die. She's still alive and travelling, and those doors left open… Yes, that door is open, and if that is in my journey, great.'

Faye expressed gratitude for the ongoing support, stating: 'Coronation Street catapulted my career, so I never condemn it. I always celebrate it.'
