The heat is on, and London's outdoor theatre season is in full swing, offering a refreshing alternative to stuffy West End venues. With summer stretching through to late October at the Globe, here are eight must-see al fresco shows.
Cats Returns to Regent's Park Open Air Theatre
Andrew Lloyd Webber's iconic musical gets its first UK revival at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre, running from July 25 to September 19. Expect a fresh take, avoiding the 1980s vibe of the original and the infamous film adaptation.
A Midsummer Night's Dream: Two Major Productions
Shakespeare's comedy thrives this summer with two open-air versions: a joyous take at Shakespeare's Globe (until August 29) and a 'blissful' production at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre (June 20 to July 18). The latter introduces 12.30pm matinees to protect audiences from the sun.
Sherlock Holmes at Regent's Park
