Australian frozen yogurt brand Yo-Chi is set to open its first UK venue in London this week, bringing its viral dessert experience to Notting Hill. The new parlour, located at 81-85 Notting Hill Gate, W11 3JS, will open its doors on Thursday, August 20, spanning 2,000 square feet across two floors.
Yo-Chi's London Debut: What to Expect
Customers at Yo-Chi will start by choosing the size of their bowl, then selecting from nine signature frozen yogurt flavours, including vanilla, butterscotch, chocolate, and matcha. The experience continues at a topping station with more than 30 sauces, spreads, and ingredients, ranging from fresh fruit and granola to chocolate chunk cookie cake and mini mochi. Desserts are priced by weight, allowing customers to pile on as much as they desire.
Beyond the yogurt, the venue will feature a DJ booth and disco balls, positioning itself as a social hangout rather than just a dessert shop. Oliver Allis, co-owner and chief brand officer at Yo-Chi, highlighted the brand's popularity, saying that 'for those who haven't tried Yo-Chi, it's hard to fathom just how much hype there is around a frozen yogurt shop'.
The 'New Club' Vibe from Australia
Allis noted that in Australia, Yo-Chi has 'become like the new club', with bouncers at the door every Friday and Saturday night. 'You could walk into a Yo-Chi on any given night and find a hundred people there, all completely different ages, all having a great time in the same room,' he said. The London venue aims to replicate this atmosphere, with Allis adding, 'Expect Yo-Chi to become your go-to spot to hang out with friends, powered by the Australian hospitality that's made us so special back home, and for the Notting Hill community, expect us to look after the locals whenever we get the chance!'
Fro-Yo Craze Hits London
The opening follows a wave of frozen yogurt shops in New York, where queues have formed for the creamy treat. London has already seen the arrival of Go Greek Yogurt in Mayfair and Mast Frozen Yogurt at Westfield White City, and Yo-Chi's launch adds to the growing trend. The Notting Hill location is expected to become a go-to spot for locals and visitors alike, blending dessert with entertainment in a club-like setting.
