Tom Holland and Zendaya's wedding disrupts Vogue Williams' plans

Vogue Williams has revealed that her plans to celebrate her husband Spencer Matthews' 38th birthday at the five-star Beaverbrook Hotel in Surrey were scuppered because Tom Holland and Zendaya had booked the entire estate for their wedding celebrations. The Irish presenter, who is pregnant with her fourth child, had hoped to take Spencer to the luxury hotel near Leatherhead, but the venue was completely taken over by the Hollywood couple for a lavish three-day event.

Birthday plans derailed by celebrity wedding

Speaking to the Daily Mail's Eden Confidential, Williams explained that she had initially considered travelling to Scotland to stay with Spencer's parents, but was advised not to fly due to her pregnancy. She then decided a hotel close to London would be safer, so she could be near her doctor if needed. 'I was, like, it would be nice to go to a hotel near London so I'm near my doctor if I have to come back,' she said. 'We were going to go up to Spenny's parents' place in Scotland, but I wasn't allowed to fly, so I was meant to go to Beaverbrook, but Zendaya and Tom Holland had gotten married there, so they were totally booked out.'

The Beaverbrook Hotel, once owned by newspaper proprietor Lord Beaverbrook, who entertained figures including Winston Churchill, now boasts 56 rooms and suites, with standard rooms typically costing between £420 and £1,200 a night. The 370-acre estate provided a secluded setting for the wedding, which reportedly cost around £500,000 and was attended by about 250 guests.

Secrecy and star-studded guest list

Guests and staff were reportedly banned from using their mobile phones to prevent leaks. Among the A-list attendees were Zendaya's Dune co-star Timothée Chalamet and his girlfriend Kylie Jenner, as well as Tom's Marvel co-star Robert Downey Jr. Some guests reportedly arrived by helicopter. The festivities began with a rehearsal dinner on Monday, followed by the wedding ceremony on Tuesday, with Tom's chef brother Sam, 27, serving as best man.

Reports indicate that guests enjoyed champagne, croquet, and Japanese food over the three-day celebration, with a pool party also thrown. Red and blue lighting was incorporated into the celebrations as a tribute to Spider-Man, Tom's most famous role. The newlyweds' speeches were said to be a particularly emotional moment.

Emotional speeches and second celebration

A source told The Sun: 'The ceremony was so beautiful and romantic. Tom and Zendaya aced their speeches as well — they were both very funny but also very emotional. There wasn't a dry eye in the house. They're incredibly hard-working and lovely people, and this stunning wedding has capped off an amazing year for them.'

The Surrey celebrations reportedly marked the second time Zendaya and Tom celebrated their marriage. The couple, who have been together since 2016 after meeting on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming, have kept their relationship largely private. The disruption to Williams' plans highlights the far-reaching impact of the high-profile wedding, as the couple's choice of venue left the pregnant presenter scrambling for an alternative birthday celebration for her husband.
