Bromley's iNaga in UK's top 100 curry restaurants

Bromley restaurant iNaga in West Wickham has been named among Britain's 100 Best Curry Restaurants in the 2026 guide compiled by the Asian Catering Federation (ACF), marking a major achievement for the 16-year-old venue.

The annual guide, first launched in 2022, is based on public votes and recommendations from the federation's expert panel, recognising establishments ranging from Michelin-starred venues to independent neighbourhood curry houses. iNaga secured its place in the prestigious list, which highlights some of the country's leading Asian restaurants.

Owner expresses pride in recognition

Owner Abdul Hay said he was "incredibly proud" to see the restaurant recognised among the country's top curry destinations. He said: "I am incredibly proud that my restaurant has been recognised among the Top 100 in the country. I have worked very hard since opening 16 years ago and really built it from scratch."

Mr Hay credited the success to his staff, describing them as an "amazing team". Alongside traditional curry house favourites, iNaga has built a reputation for signature dishes including its Shaslik Massala and Railway Lamb Curry.

South east London restaurants on shortlist

The latest accolade comes as the restaurant is also in the running for honours at this year's Asian Curry Awards. Bromley's iNaga is one of the 16 restaurants from across south east London and the surrounding area to make the shortlist, joining venues including Babur in Forest Hill, Panas by Sujan Katuwal MBE and The Khans Indian Restaurant in Blackheath, and The Bombay and Indian Essence in Orpington.

Community support plays key role

Mr Hay said the support of the local community has played a major role in the restaurant's success. Over the years, iNaga has sponsored local football and rugby teams, while also supporting school events and donating food to community initiatives. The restaurant has also hosted tasting lunches for primary school children, introducing many youngsters to curry for the first time.

Mr Hay said: "We work closely with our community and I am humbled by the support we are shown. The restaurant is a busy, happy, friendly space. Just what I dreamed of all those years ago."
