Millie Bobby Brown Officially Drops 'Brown' From Name After Marriage
Millie Bobby Brown changes name after wedding

Millie Bobby Brown has officially revealed her new married name in a surprising twist that clarifies her true identity. The 21-year-old actress, best known for her role in Netflix's Stranger Things, confirmed during a recent interview that she's dropped her famous surname following her marriage to Jake Bongiovi.

The Name Revelation

During an interview with VT alongside her co-star Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers in the hit series, Brown's full name became the subject of discussion. When Schnapp was asked if he knew Millie's complete name, he initially responded: 'It's Millie Bonnie Brown.'

The actress immediately interrupted with a simple 'Well, now...' which sparked a back-and-forth exchange between the two stars. Schnapp quickly amended his answer to 'Millie Bonnie Brown Bongiovi' before also including 'Bobby' in the mix.

Brown then made her position clear, stating firmly: 'No Bobby. Start again.' After Schnapp suggested she was named Millie Bonnie Brown, the actress added the crucial instruction: 'Drop the Brown.'

She finally clarified: 'It's just Millie Bonnie Bongiovi,' joking that the name could be shortened to the playful 'Millie Bon Bon.'

Setting the Record Straight

This isn't the first time Brown has addressed confusion around her name. Earlier this year, she revealed her real name for the first time during promotion for her Netflix movie The Electric State with Chris Pratt.

'My middle name is Bonnie,' she told Pratt, who responded incredulously: 'Millie Bobby Bonnie Brown?' Brown clarified the situation, telling both Pratt and BuzzFeed UK: 'No, it's not Bobby. It's Millie Bonnie Brown. I've never told anyone that. You heard it here first.'

When Pratt questioned why she changed to 'Bobby' if her middle name was actually 'Bonnie,' Brown joked that she made the decision 'just for s***s and giggles,' explaining that she thought Bobby sounded more unique than Bonnie for her stage name.

New Chapter in Life

The name change comes during a significant period of transformation for the young actress. Brown tied the knot with Jake Bongiovi, son of rock legend Jon Bon Jovi, and the couple later announced in August that they had adopted a baby girl.

In a joint statement on social media that sent fans into a frenzy, the couple shared: 'This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy.'

The message concluded with: 'And then there were 3. Love Millie and Jake Bongiovi,' officially confirming their new family status. Brown has described motherhood as a 'beautiful, amazing journey,' marking what appears to be a deeply fulfilling new phase in her life beyond her acting career.

The actress's decision to formally adopt her married name while also correcting long-standing misconceptions about her birth name represents a significant personal milestone as she balances her public persona with her private life as a wife and new mother.
