DS Ramsden's Arrival and Questioning
DS Ramsden was introduced shortly after the death of Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker). She questioned Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), suspecting they were not being fully honest about the circumstances. Serena, who had arrived at Jacobs Fold seconds after Sarah pushed Todd and helped create a cover story, was also interviewed. The Hug That Confirms Their Connection
In today's episode, DS Ramsden visited the village to question Charity again about Todd's death. She then went to Emmerdale Farm to see Serena. Seconds later, the two women hugged, confirming they know each other well. This relationship explains why Thea senses Serena is not telling the whole truth about Todd's final moments. Thea encouraged Serena to share more information, but Serena stuck to her story. Ramsden then commented that she hopes whatever Serena is up to won't interfere with their plan.
The Masterplan to Bring Down Kim Tate
At the end of the episode, Thea and Serena were outside the pub, where it was revealed that Serena has been breaking into Home Farm for Thea, who wants to find something that can bring Kim Tate down. After a brief interaction with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), Thea stated that Joe isn't the devil, but Kim is. 'She's the one I need to cut off at the knees,' she told Serena. 'Get me what I need on Kim Tate so I can finally bring her down.'
The use of the word 'finally' suggests Thea has been plotting against Kim for a while. The episode leaves viewers wondering how Thea knows Kim and whether her plan will succeed.
