The DMC World DJ Championships, one of the most prestigious DJ competitions globally, is returning to its birthplace in London with a free launch party in Camden. The event will take place on Sunday, August 16, from 3pm to 7pm at the Amphitheatre in Stables Market, Camden.

Free Launch Party Details

The launch party will feature performances by World DMC Champion Cutmaster Swift and UK legend DJ Pogo, with MysDiggi hosting the afternoon. No tickets or advance registration are required; attendees can simply show up and join the festivities. The afternoon will span hip hop, funk, disco, soul, and world-class turntablism, with free DMC merchandise, vinyl, slipmats, and exclusive giveaways available.

DMC41 Competition Schedule

This launch marks the beginning of the road to DMC41, the 41st edition of the competition, which will take over multiple venues across Camden from Thursday, November 12, to Saturday, November 14. Tickets for DMC41 are now on sale, with Day One tickets starting at £22 and Day Two tickets starting at £35.75.

History and Legacy

First staged in London in 1985, the DMC World DJ Championships has spent over four decades discovering new talent and shaping DJ culture. The competition has been hosted in cities worldwide, including New York, Tokyo, Paris, and San Francisco, establishing itself as the ultimate proving ground for turntablism. Past champions include A-Trak, Craze, DJ Qbert, Cash Money, Roc Raida, C2C, Scratch Perverts, DJ Fly, and Kentaro, all of whom first gained recognition on the DMC stage.

Camden will become the global capital of DJ culture during DMC41, with three days of world-class competition, legendary performances, and celebrations of DJ artistry.
