Covent Garden 2025 Christmas Lights Date Announced

London's festive season is officially beginning as Covent Garden announces the eagerly anticipated switch-on date for its spectacular 2025 Christmas lights display.

When the Magic Begins

The heart of London will sparkle to life on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, when more than 300,000 lights will be activated across the famous district. This annual tradition marks the true start of Christmas for many Londoners and visitors alike.

The illumination will transform Covent Garden's key areas, including the Piazza, Seven Dials, Neal's Yard and surrounding streets. Returning favourites will include the stunning golden bells that line the roof of the Market Building and the magnificent 55-foot British-grown Christmas tree.

Festive Experiences Beyond the Lights

Adding to the seasonal cheer, Covent Garden is bringing back its popular Christmas-themed cocktail bar, Miracle at Henrietta Experimental. Located at 10 Henrietta Street, this year's installation will be double the size of last year's successful pop-up.

Visitors can enjoy festive concoctions such as the Christmapolitan and Snowball Old Fashioned when the bar opens for business on November 10. Bookings are currently being accepted for those eager to secure their spot at this seasonal hotspot.

London's Festive Calendar Fills Up

With Halloween and Bonfire Night behind us, the capital is rapidly embracing the Christmas spirit. The revelation of Covent Garden's light switch-on follows other seasonal announcements including pantomime schedules, ice rink bookings, and carol concert preparations across the city.

The area's Christmas lights have become one of London's most iconic and photographed festive displays, drawing crowds throughout November and December. The 2025 installation promises to continue this beloved tradition with its characteristic blend of elegance and festive magic.
