Bedgebury Forest Named UK's Best Christmas Light Trail

Kent's Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest has been named one of the UK's best Christmas light trails in a new list by The Times. The publication highlighted 18 of the most spectacular illuminations across the country, with Bedgebury being the only Kent venue to make the cut.

The Times Praises Bedgebury's Illuminations

The Times explained why Bedgebury earned its spot, noting that Forestry England is hosting vibrant trails at several sites, including Westonbirt Arboretum and this Kent venue. The publication described how the lights accentuate the natural beauty of the site, with conifers glowing in scarlet, turquoise, amber, and pink, while neon stalks sprout beneath them and a glittery flock of robins shimmers deep into the night.

This year holds extra significance as the National Pinetum celebrates its 100th anniversary, promising additional sparkle to the festivities. Christmas at Bedgebury has become one of Kent's most popular festive attractions, drawing visitors to explore the forest bathed in stunning colours.

What's New for 2026

For 2026, the trail has been reimagined with brand-new installations and the return of some festive favourites. Visitors can experience the brand-new Laser Garden, see Bedgebury's tall trees glowing against the night sky, and even spot Father Christmas, according to Forestry England.
