On a recent episode of Late Night, Seth Meyers took aim at Donald Trump's latest social media activity, including his remarks about the World Cup, his desire to swap lives with Cristiano Ronaldo, and his criticism of Canada over wildfires.
Trump's World Cup Comments
Meyers discussed a post where Trump thanked Rudy Giuliani's son, Andrew, for helping organize the tournament in the U.S. "It was already the biggest sporting event in the world," Meyers said. "It's not like he sold 7 million pickleball tickets."
He also mocked Trump's photo op with Little League softball champions, quipping, "Wow, still chasing that World Cup final high, huh?"
Criticism of Canada and Ronaldo
After wildfires caused air quality issues in parts of the U.S., Trump posted that Canada failed to take preventative measures, calling the cost "incalculable." Meyers joked, "So he didn't write that post."
Trump also claimed he'd like to switch places with soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo for a month. Meyers quipped, "'Or longer,' yelled Melania." He added, "Watching Ronaldo run full-speed up and down a soccer pitch and you're like, 'That guy doesn't work as hard as President Trump.'"
Heart Association and Eating Habits
Meyers also touched on the American Heart Association's statement that five cups of coffee daily is safe. Showing a photo of Trump sleeping, he joked, "But you know, maybe start with one."
A study revealed 34% of people who eat in their car choose easier food options. "That makes sense, it's probably not the time or the place for tapas," Meyers said.
Guinness World Record and TikTok
A German man popped 60 balloons in 30 seconds with a plunger. Meyers joked, "So the toilet is still clogged?"
Finally, Trump claimed he's "No. 1" on TikTok. "'Guess again, bitch,' said Jimothy," Meyers said, referencing the viral Seattle raccoon. "So glad to see it finally happening for Jimothy, he's been at it for a long time."
