Christina Boyd's mysterious phone calls in Coronation Street have left viewers intrigued, with a big shock on the horizon. Debbie Webster's angels, the lady squad supporting her battle with early-onset dementia, have been a highlight since forming. Bernie Winter, Christina Boyd, Glenda Shuttleworth, and Sally Metcalfe form a strong, supportive girl gang. Sally can be irritating with her superiority complex, Glenda feels blue without a boyfriend, Bernie is a headache, and Debbie is a handful. Christina, however, remains a mystery.
Christina's Past and Present
Since Amy Robbins' role was upgraded to a series regular, Christina has won viewers' hearts, but she was initially a cow. Arriving before her daughter Daisy Midgeley's wedding to Daniel Osbourne, she feuded with Jenny Connor. Christina supported Daisy's con on Jenny but planned to fleece her own daughter, and Daisy left alone with the loot. On her return, Christina reignited the beef with Jenny over undertaker George Shuttleworth, ultimately claiming him, leading Jenny to leave. Christina became part of George's surrogate family: Todd Grimshaw, Summer Spellman, and Theo Silverton. Theo was recently murdered after his abusive true colors emerged. Christina is an official suspect, but police Lisa Swain and Kit Green have ignored her, despite her lying about her movements on the night of Theo's death and pushing George to implicate Summer. Christina also made a phone call, pleading for help until she sorted the mess.
Debbie's Spanish Surprise
In today's double episode, Debbie's angels assembled to give her an unforgettable experience. Ronnie Bailey attempted to organize a Spanish getaway, but Debbie felt unsafe leaving the country due to her condition. The group understood, but Ronnie had an idea and roped them in. As the girls left to get things ready, Ronnie led Debbie to the function room under the pretense of electrical failure. When the lights came up, the group had created a Spanish wonderland with Ryan Connor as their personal waiter, offering costumes for each woman's fantasy. Throughout the day, Christina was distracted by her phone, despite the group vowing to ignore outside interferences. Sally and Glenda exchanged cross words, and Sally referenced Christina's phone use.
Glenda's Discovery
TV Times magazine revealed that Glenda will pursue Christina's secret and discover she is still in contact with her ex-husband Lenny, leading Glenda to fear Christina has dishonorable intentions toward her brother George. With so much secrecy and Theo's murder still hanging over Weatherfield, is Christina merely playing away or covering up a darker secret?
