ITV presenter Laura Woods was taken ill and collapsed live on air on Tuesday night while presenting coverage of the England women's national football team's friendly match against Ghana.
On-Air Incident at St. Mary's Stadium
The shocking moment occurred during the broadcast from St. Mary's Stadium on December 2, 2025. The 38-year-old broadcaster was presenting ITV's coverage when she suddenly fell. She was swiftly caught by fellow pundits Ian Wright and Anita Asante, who were on set with her.
Producers immediately cut the broadcast to a wider shot of the two teams warming up on the pitch before taking an abrupt advert break. When the coverage resumed, presenter Katie Shanahan had taken over, informing viewers of the situation.
Colleagues and Fiance Provide Reassuring Updates
‘As you have probably noticed we don’t have the wonderful Laura Woods because she’s just been taken ill but she’s in very good hands so I’m stepping in at late notice,’ Shanahan told the audience.
She later added a further message of reassurance: ‘She’s in really good hands and we’re wishing her a speedy recovery.’
Adam Collard, Woods' fiance and a former Love Island contestant, provided a positive update on her condition via social media shortly after the incident. ‘Laura is all ok and with the right people,’ he wrote. ‘Thank you for all of your kind messages.’
