Niall Horan's £10 Million London Mansion Pub Renovation Deemed 'Worst Idea Ever'

Former One Direction star Niall Horan has openly expressed regret over a major renovation to his luxurious £10 million London home, specifically the construction of a pub in the basement. The 32-year-old singer, who purchased a six-bedroom mansion in a leafy west London neighborhood last year, made the revelation during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where he discussed his new album Dinner Party and his hosting habits.

The Pub That Backfired

Horan explained that he built the pub—emphasizing it was a full pub, not just a bar or trolley—to address London's early pub closing times, which often see last calls at 10:30 PM and shutdowns by 11 PM, unlike late-night venues in other cities. "It has to be the worst idea I've ever had," he admitted, noting that the setup leads to guests overstaying their welcome after dinner parties. "All of a sudden, I have a house full of people!" he said, though he added he has developed a strategy: using a side entrance to discreetly ferry people out by turning off the music and lights.

Personal Life and Album Inspiration

The move to the mansion also marked a settling-in period with his girlfriend, Amelia Wooley, a fashion buyer and marketing professional he has been with since 2020, along with their dog. Horan shared that he met Wooley at a dinner party he hosted, which inspired the album's name. "It was at my house, and she was a late addition," he recounted, joking that he didn't cook for guests and likely ordered Uber Eats, calling it "more of a drinks party." He also revealed that Wooley has been a muse for several songs on Dinner Party, causing her to cry upon first hearing them, and he praised their relationship for providing mutual support and companionship.

Tour Announcements and Future Plans

Horan's new album, Dinner Party, is set for release on June 5, accompanied by a tour across the UK and Europe. The tour kicks off in Birmingham on September 22, with stops in Newcastle, Manchester, Glasgow, Sheffield, and concluding at London's O2 Arena on October 2. Additional shows are planned in cities like Hamburg, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris, Dublin, and Belfast. In a social media post, Horan expressed excitement about returning to the stage, stating the album was "written with the live experience in mind" and promising more tour dates in the future.

Despite the pub mishap, Horan remains focused on his music career and personal life, highlighting the joys of home life with Wooley, even if it involves procrastinating weekends indoors. The singer's candid revelations offer a glimpse into the challenges of celebrity home renovations and the balance between public entertainment and private comfort.
