YouTube Launches UK Recap 2025: Your Personalised Year in Review
YouTube's 2025 Recap launches in the UK

YouTube has officially rolled out its highly anticipated annual recap feature to users in the United Kingdom. For the first time, the platform is offering a personalised, Spotify Wrapped-style review of your viewing habits throughout 2025.

What's Inside Your YouTube Recap?

The new feature provides a deep dive into your year on the video platform. Users can access up to nine shareable cards detailing their most-watched channels, top interests, and how their viewing habits evolved. A novel addition is the assignment of a 'personality type' based on watch history, with categories including Sunshiner, Wonder Seeker, Philosopher, and Dreamer.

Music listeners will also see their Top Artists and Songs featured. The recap launched in North America on December 2, 2025, and is now becoming available to UK audiences. To find it, users should check their YouTube homepage or the 'You' tab in the mobile app.

2025's Biggest Trends and UK Favourites

Alongside the personal recaps, YouTube has released its broader cultural trends for the year. Roya Zeitoune, Head of YouTube Culture & Trends for EMEA, noted an 'unprecedented alignment across different countries.' Global phenomena like Squid Game, the rise of Labubu, and KPop Demon Hunters were shared widely, while niche viewing journeys remained popular.

The UK's specific data revealed a counterintuitive trend: despite the focus on short-form video, long-form content's popularity has been thriving. British channels that saw a significant surge in subscriptions included Gary’s Economics, Madeline Argy, and Niko Omilana.

Top Creators and What's Next

The list of 2025's top global creators was dominated by figures like MrBeast, IShowSpeed, and Outdoor Boys. In music, tracks from artists like Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, and Kendrick Lamar topped the YouTube charts.

The launch of YouTube Recap coincides with the expected release of Spotify Wrapped 2025, which the audio streaming giant typically unveils on a Wednesday in late November or early December. Spotify has already hinted that its popular annual data summary is 'on the way soon.'
