TK Maxx will open its new 10,000 sqm store in West London at 10am on Thursday, August 27, at The Oaks Shopping Centre in Acton. The store, located at Unit 6, Churchfield Road, takes over the former Wilko site and marks the retailer's latest expansion in the capital.
New store details and opening events
The revamped Oaks Shopping Centre, which officially opened in October 2019, will host the new TK Maxx. To celebrate the launch, the retailer has planned entertainment for early shoppers: a roaming band will perform for customers queuing for first entry, and once inside, a 'Spin to Win' interactive game will offer sweets, prizes, and gift cards.
A TK Maxx spokesperson said: “We are thrilled to be opening a brand-new TK Maxx store in Acton at The Oaks shopping centre. Acton is such a vibrant area with a thriving community, and we can’t wait to give local treasure seekers access to incredible big-brand fashion.”
Shopping experience and discounts
TK Maxx states that customers can find items up to 60 per cent off the recommended retail price (RRP), spanning designer brands, high-street fashion, and unique homeware. The company emphasizes that its inventory changes frequently, with rails constantly refreshed to offer new bargains on each visit.
The spokesperson added: “With our rails constantly refreshed, no two visits are ever the same – there’s always an unexpected bargain waiting to be found. We look forward to welcoming the local community through our doors on Thursday, 27th August.”

The opening provides Acton residents with a new large-format retail destination in the area, filling the space vacated by Wilko.
