Need to grab something last-minute from the shops? Supermarkets have revealed their holiday opening times for the late May bank holiday this year. Depending on your plans, you may have quite a lot of shopping to do. To save you time, we have compiled everything you need to know below. Opening hours may vary by branch, so please check your local store’s specific times to avoid disappointment.

Lidl

Lidl branches outside London M25 and in Wales will have reduced opening hours, operating between 8am and 8pm. Stores in London and across Scotland will remain open as usual, with most closing at around 10pm or later.

Marks & Spencer

Opening times for M&S shops will vary by store. Some larger shops will operate as normal, while others, including many M&S foodhalls, will close slightly earlier than usual. Check your local M&S store’s opening times using the chain’s store locator.

Tesco

Tesco has confirmed that all of its large stores will close by 6pm. A few Express shops, mostly in central London, will also close at 6pm, while others across the UK are expected to run as normal. Check opening times for your local store using their store locator.

Aldi

Aldi stores across the UK will operate with reduced hours, opening between 8am and 8pm. Check the bank holiday opening and closing times for individual Aldi stores with the chain’s store finder.

Morrisons

Sainsbury’s

Co-op branches will open as normal, with stores shutting late and a few locations operating for 24 hours. Use their store finder to find exact times for your local branch.

Asda

Large Asda stores are expected to close earlier than normal, with most shops open between 8am and 10pm, but this depends on the store. Asda Living shops will also close slightly earlier. Waitrose
