For the first time in fifteen years, the City of London has unveiled a brand-new retail and leisure destination, marking a significant moment for the capital's commercial heartland. Broadgate Central has officially opened its doors, creating a vibrant new link between the bustling Liverpool Street station and Finsbury Avenue Square.
A New Retail and Wellness Hub for the City
The new complex boasts a carefully curated mix of 28 fashion, dining, and wellness brands, offering a fresh and diverse experience for City workers and local residents. The line-up includes a host of notable names such as:
- Moyses Stevens
- Poolhouse
- Salad Project
- The Horsemen
- Townhouse
- Eton Shirts
They are joined by an impressive roster of other retailers, including Molton Brown, NOTTO To Go, Läderach, Maison Ladurée, Moss, Strip, Murdock London, Sandwich Sandwich, Sushinoya, Mango, Luca Faloni, Hobbs, Whistles, and Vagabond.
A Ribbon-Drop Opening Celebration
The grand opening took place on Thursday, November 13, and was celebrated with a unique event named “The Drop.” Departing from the conventional ribbon-cutting ceremony, hundreds of colourful ribbons were poured from above, creating a spectacular visual display.
Attendees were treated to a lively atmosphere, with the event hosted by fashion presenter Annaliese Dayes. The celebration was filled with energy, featuring live DJ sets, roaming performers, and a vibrant lunchtime crowd, with guests having the chance to win prizes and experiences from the centre's brands.
Designed for Modern City Life
Kate Lea, Head of Shopping Centre Leasing at developer British Land, commented on the new offering. She stated, "Broadgate Central marks an exciting new chapter for Broadgate, bringing even more energy and variety to the City of London. It has been designed to offer something different - a place that brings fashion, dining and wellness together in one connected space."
"By curating a line-up that spans from cult foodie names to heritage fashion, we’re creating a hub that feels vibrant, contemporary and relevant to the way people want to spend their time today," Lea added, highlighting the centre's aim to cater to the evolving demands of urban life.
The arrival of Broadgate Central signals a dynamic addition to the City's landscape, providing a new, integrated space for shopping, dining, and relaxation directly connected to one of London's major transport hubs.
