Thorpe Park Announces 2026 Summer Season Opening with Enhanced Experiences
Thorpe Park, the renowned Surrey-based theme park, has officially confirmed its opening date for the 2026 summer season. The park will welcome visitors starting at 10 am on March 27, 2026, marking the end of its annual four-month closure period. This seasonal relaunch follows extensive maintenance on key steel rollercoasters, including Stealth and The Swarm, ensuring optimal performance for thrill seekers and families alike.
New Attractions and Ride Updates for 2026
While no brand-new rides are being introduced for the 2026 season, Thorpe Park is launching exciting new experiences to enhance visitor enjoyment. The headline attraction remains Hyperia, a massive coaster standing at 236 feet tall with speeds reaching 81 mph and featuring Europe's tallest loop. New for this year are the "Coaster Climbs" on Hyperia, allowing guests to ascend to extraordinary heights of 236 feet for a 360-degree birds-eye view of the park, guided by a personal host. This exclusive experience is priced at £150 per person.
Additionally, Behind-The-Scenes (BTS) tours will be available, offering an insider look at the park's operations. In a significant change, the waterpark attraction Amity Beach, which opened in 1991, has been permanently closed after nearly 35 years. It is being replaced by The Launchpad, a new relaxation zone designed with seats and canopies for visitors to rest and refuel between rides. Thorpe Park emphasized that this space will serve as a recharge zone for thrill seekers, though some water facilities from the beach area will remain operational.
Ticket Prices, Discounts, and Special Events
Thorpe Park has outlined its ticket pricing structure for the 2026 season, with various options to suit different visitor needs. A one-day advance ticket starts from £32 per person, while an annual pass is available from £64 per person. Children under 1.2 meters tall can visit for free. Discounted rates include student tickets at £21 and group tickets at £27 per person, with overnight stays offering two days of park entry starting from £63 per person. It is highly recommended to book tickets online, as walk-up prices can more than double these rates.
Passholder Day is set to return on Sunday, March 22, 2026, providing an exclusive preview day for Merlin and Thorpe Park annual passholders ahead of the public opening. Details for this event are being kept under wraps but will be announced on social media platforms soon. With over 25 rides and attractions, Thorpe Park continues to position itself as the UK's most thrilling theme park, blending adrenaline-pumping experiences with family-friendly amenities.
