Hulk Smash... and Then Scrub: A Costume Gone Wrong
A British man's ambitious plan to transform into the Incredible Hulk for a night out in Benidorm, Spain, backfired spectacularly, leading to a three-day scrubbing marathon to remove the stubborn green paint from his skin.
The man, named Kane, decided that standard body paint wouldn't withstand the warm Spanish climate, fearing it would simply sweat off. Opting for a more durable alternative, he slathered himself in six layers of green fabric paint, using a brush to achieve the look of the iconic Marvel superhero.
The Transformation and the Aftermath
His friend, Graham White, a 48-year-old from Middlesbrough who documents life in Benidorm on TikTok, captured the process on video. In the clip, Kane is seen meticulously applying the paint and proudly showing off the Hulk's signature muscle pose, seemingly pleased with the initial result.
The celebration was short-lived. The following day, a separate video revealed a dejected-looking Kane, still covered in large, patchy areas of green. He explained his desperate struggle to wash off the paint, which had firmly bonded to his skin after hours of wear.
Despite having tested the paint on his arm earlier in the day and finding it rinsed off easily, the prolonged full-body application proved disastrous. He took six baths and spent a significant amount of time in a steam room, but the green tint proved incredibly resilient.
A Three-Day Ordeal to Return to Normal
Graham White later confirmed the extent of the mishap, telling news outlet What's the Jam: 'It was 100% accidental. And it took three days to get most of it off.' He added that even after the extensive cleaning efforts, traces of paint remained on Kane's head and neck.
The viral TikTok video attracted numerous comments from amused viewers. One person wrote, 'Lads is an absolute nutter but love it,' while another claimed to have spotted him in Benidorm with most of the paint still visible, sitting on a bench.
Eventually, later clips showed that Kane had managed to get clean, save for a few stubborn green patches around his neck, finally bringing his incredible, and incredibly persistent, transformation to an end.
