Chessington World of Adventures Announces Grand Opening of £15 Million Paw Patrol Land
Chessington World of Adventures has officially revealed the highly anticipated opening date for its brand-new World of Paw Patrol attraction, a £15 million immersive land dedicated to the beloved preschool franchise. The Surrey-based theme park confirmed that the Adventure Bay-inspired area will welcome its first visitors on Sunday, May 3, perfectly timed for the upcoming bank holiday weekend.
Immersive Experience Across 1.4 Acres
Spanning 1.4 acres of the amusement complex, the World of Paw Patrol replaces the former Scorpion Express rollercoaster, which closed in 2022. Newly released images and videos provide an exciting sneak peek into this meticulously designed environment, featuring character meet-and-greets, interactive play areas, and uniquely themed hotel accommodations. The centerpiece of the land is a full-scale replica of the iconic Paw Patrol Lookout Tower, familiar to millions of children worldwide.
Four Family-Friendly Rides and Attractions
The attraction boasts four specially crafted family rides, each offering distinct adventures. Chase's Mountain Mission serves as an entry-level rollercoaster where riders navigate a twisting track to assist Chase and Everest in a rescue operation. Zuma's Hovercraft Adventure introduces the UK's first 'drifter' ride, simulating sliding and skidding sensations during a high-speed aquatic mission from Adventure Bay to Seal Island.
Additional rides include Skye's Helicopter Heroes, featuring suspended helicopters with spinning rotors and panoramic views, and Marshall's Firetruck Rescue, where guests hold on tight as the vehicle rolls through the streets of the on-screen town. These experiences are designed to make visitors feel fully immersed in the Paw Patrol universe.
Interactive Play Zones and Themed Accommodations
Beyond the rides, the land offers hands-on play areas such as Rubble & Rocky's Play Zone, a climbable construction zone where children can slide and explore alongside the construction pup Rubble. Another highlight is The Flounder Boat Play, inviting kids to join Captain Turbot on a nautical adventure.
Chessington has also introduced five Paw Patrol-themed hotel rooms, marking the first and only accommodation of its kind in the UK. Priced from £155 for a family of four, each room sleeps up to two adults and three children and includes bed and breakfast, early ride access, and a Fastrack bronze package. The rooms feature unique elements like Paw Patroller rescue vehicle beds, enhancing the immersive experience.
Superfan Appointed as Official 'PAWject Manager'
In a charming quality assurance initiative, Chessington appointed four-year-old Hallie Sawyer from Southampton as the official 'PAWject Manager' after a nationwide search that attracted over 2,000 entries. Selected for her compassion, kindness, and enthusiasm, Hallie tested the rides and met the characters, receiving family tickets for the opening event, a hotel stay, and various Paw Patrol merchandise.
'I felt proud when I won — just like Chase, I'm on the case,' Hallie remarked. 'My favorite was seeing Skye's helicopters, because she is my favorite pup, and I want to be brave like her.'
Nick Bevan, vice president of Chessington World of Adventures, commented, 'It's safe to say Hallie was on the case, bringing such enthusiasm and “PAW-sitivity” to her important quality assurance mission. Her entry was a brilliant reminder of how the PAW Patrol values can be lived every day through care, teamwork, and doing the right thing.'
Creative Vision and Future Bookings
Sian Hooper, creative director at Merlin Magic Making and the visionary behind the new land, emphasized the design philosophy: 'Every ride has been designed to make guests feel like they're stepping into Adventure Bay — whether they're skidding and sliding with Zuma or soaring sky-high with Skye. We can't wait for families to join the patrol this spring and create their own pup-tacular memories.'
Spring and summer tickets for Chessington World of Adventures, along with reservations for the Paw Patrol-themed hotel rooms, are now available for online booking. This major investment underscores Chessington's commitment to providing innovative, family-oriented entertainment that captivates both children and adults alike.
