The Met Office has forecast a return to rainy weather in London this June, following an upcoming blistering heatwave over the bank holiday weekend. While the forecaster's day-by-day forecast does not extend to mid-June, its long-range outlook covering June 3 to June 17 indicates that 'as we head towards mid-June, more mixed conditions are likely with spells of rain and showers.' This news may disappoint those hoping for a warm summer, especially as many plan to watch England in the World Cup at pub gardens.
However, the forecast also notes that 'drier weather is expected between any bouts of wetter weather,' offering some hope. Until then, the weather is expected to be good. Temperatures will peak at 30C this weekend: Friday, May 22, is set to be 27C, with Saturday, May 23, and Sunday, May 24, reaching a boiling 30C. Monday, May 25, will also be a sweltering 29C.
