Residents of the capital have a fresh opportunity to slash their household bills, with a local broadband firm claiming customers could save hundreds of pounds by ditching major national providers.
Substantial Savings and a Price Freeze Promise
According to London-focused provider Community Fibre, households making the switch could pocket savings of up to £762 on their broadband costs. This calculation is based on a comparison with the pricing of national providers for equivalent high-speed packages as of January 7.
The potential windfall is part of a new flash sale, which also includes three months of free broadband on both 12 and 24-month contracts. Crucially, the company is guaranteeing no mid-contract price increases for anyone who signs up before the offer ends on February 2.
This means the rate you agree to is locked in until 2027 for a 12-month contract, and until 2028 for a two-year package, offering significant protection against the industry's frequent annual hikes.
High-Speed Plans Tailored for London
Community Fibre offers a range of full-fibre plans exclusively within London. Packages start at 100Mbps for £19 per month, rising to a blistering 5Gbps for £63 per month – a speed the provider says is 272 times faster than the UK average.
Several competitive mid-tier options are also available, including 300Mbps for £21 and 1Gbps (1000Mbps) for just £25. New customers will face no setup fees and will receive a free router, with those choosing the fastest plans getting a next-generation WiFi 7 device.
To put this in context, rival Sky's fastest widely available speed is 900Mbps for £35, while Virgin Media's Gig1 package is £31.99 and includes a Netflix subscription.
Strong Reviews and Easy Switching
The provider has garnered an impressive reputation among its users, holding an outstanding 4.7-star rating on Trustpilot from nearly 80,000 reviews. A remarkable 90% of these reviewers awarded the service a full five stars.
One satisfied customer commented on the platform: "Been with Community Fibre for two years and just renewed for a further two years as their customer service is second to none. No one else gets close on service, price and speeds." Another praised the "fast setup service and the quality and speed of the internet bandwidth."
As the service is only available in the capital, interested Londoners must use the company's postcode checker to confirm eligibility. For those who can switch, the process is designed to be hassle-free, as Community Fibre participates in the One Touch Switch scheme, meaning it will contact your current provider to manage the changeover on your behalf.
The flash sale offering three months free and a guaranteed price freeze ends on February 2.
