British Airways has announced a significant expansion of its short-haul network from London Heathrow, with two new European routes set to take off in the spring of 2026.
New Destinations and Flight Schedules
The airline will commence a seasonal service to Tivat in Montenegro from Terminal 3 on 14th May 2026. Flights will operate throughout the summer season on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
A month earlier, on 19th April 2026, British Airways will launch a year-round, daily service to Guernsey in the Channel Islands. This marks the first-ever direct air link between London Heathrow and Guernsey.
Exploring the New Destinations
The addition of Tivat provides a direct gateway to Montenegro's stunning Adriatic coastline. Tivat Airport is situated within a 30-minute drive of popular holiday hotspots like the historic, walled cities of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and Budva.
Both towns are famed for their enchanting shops, churches, and passageways, all set against a dramatic backdrop of tall mountains.
The new Guernsey route will not only serve tourists visiting attractions like Castle Cornet and St Peter Port but will also provide a valuable connection for business travellers and those visiting family.
Strategic Expansion and Customer Benefits
Neil Chernoff, British Airways’ Chief Planning and Strategy Officer, stated: “We’re pleased to be expanding our route map with the addition of two new routes for customers to explore, bringing the total number of our Heathrow short-haul network to nearly 100 destinations.”
He highlighted that Montenegro is an ideal choice for those seeking stunning coastlines and year-round sunshine, while the Guernsey route had been eagerly awaited by customers.
As the only direct service from Heathrow to Guernsey, the route will offer conveniently timed connections to more than 20 European destinations, providing greater choice and flexibility for both leisure and business travellers.
